What’s the difference between Trixxo Arena and Expo Hasselt as trade fair spaces?
Both the Trixxo Arena and Expo Hasselt can be used as trade fair spaces. Together, they offer a total usable exhibition floor of 10,000 m2, divided into several multifunctional areas. Depending on the size of the trade fair, these spaces can be used separately or in combination. Smaller fairs take place in Expo Hasselt. Large public and trade fairs take place in the Trixxo Arena next door.

Do minors need to be accompanied?
Minors may enter the venue without being accompanied by an adult, unless the trade fair or exhibition organiser decides otherwise. However, Expo Hasselt can in no way be held responsible for these minors.

Can children enter for free?
Depending on the type of trade fair or exhibition, there is free entry for children under a certain age. We will mention this on the page of the event in our Calendar section or you can find this information on the official website of the trade fair.

I have lost something during the event. Who can I contact to report this?
If you notice that you have lost something while you are in the venue, you can report this to the cloakroom staff. If you do not notice the loss until later, please contact our administrative department. We are available every working day from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on the phone number +32 3 400 60 60. PLEASE NOTE that you cannot order tickets via this number. You can also send an e-mail to info@expohasselt.be. If your belongings have been found, you can pick them up from the reception desk at our offices. Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 09.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Found objects are only kept for a limited period of time. Valuable items such as personal documents, will be delivered by us to the police and can be picked up at the following address: Politiehuis Hasselt, Zwarte-Brugstraat 6, 3500 Hasselt, + 32 11 938 938.

Tickets

When do ticket sales for an art fair or exhibition start?
The sale of tickets for fairs and exhibitions is the responsibility of the organising party. Any presales do not go through our channels. For the necessary information, always check the official website of the trade fair or exhibition, which is also mentioned on the event page in our Calendar.

How can I buy tickets?
Tickets for trade fairs and exhibitions are sold at the box office during the opening hours of the event itself. The box office for trade fairs in the Trixxo Arena is located to the right of the entrance doors. For trade fairs in Expo Hasselt the box office is located left and right of the entrance. The box office is open during the opening hours of the trade fair. Always check the official website of the trade fair or exhibition (mentioned on our website) for more info about ticket prices, presales, discounts and opening hours.

Can I buy admission tickets for trade fairs online?
The trade fair organisers are responsible for ticket sales themselves. So it’s them who decide whether or not tickets are offered for sale online. It is best to check the official website of the fair to see if online tickets are sold and what the prices are. Admission tickets can always be purchased at the box office during the opening hours of the trade fair of exhibition.

Mobility

Can I get to Expo Hasselt by public transport?
Keep in mind that after the events in the evening, there is not always a train or bus back home. So check in advance whether you can travel back easily. Or try to combine your outward train journey with a return journey by carpooling.

Park H can be reached by bus from the station. If you are visiting an event during the day, you can use bus transport. In the evening, there are usually no more buses after the event.

The following bus lines provide a smooth connection between Hasselt’s train and bus station and Park H during the day. The bus stop Hasselt-Provinciehuis is located at walking distance from Park H along the Universiteitslaan. This stop is served by one of these lines at least every 30 minutes:

Can I easily reach Expo Hasselt by car and can I easily park there?
You’ll find signposts at the three Hasselt exits on the E313 Antwerp – Liège motorway and on the main ring road around Hasselt. The easiest way to reach Park H is via exit 29 (Hasselt-Oost).

Park H has ample parking space. Enter ‘Trichterheideweg’ as your destination address in your GPS. The car parks A, B, C, D and E have space for 2,720 cars. For a visit to Trixxo Arena – Expo Hasselt, it’s best to park on parking A.

When entering, take a ticket at the barriers. Please note: if the light above certain barriers is red instead of green, this means that you can only drive out of the car park. You pay your parking ticket (5 euros) at the payment terminals in the entrance hall. You can pay before, after or even during the event. Your ticket remains valid throughout your visit.

Are there parking spaces for wheelchair users?
There are parking spaces for wheelchair users and holders of a European Disability Parking Card at the entrance to the venue. If you would like assistance in getting to and from the car park, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Is there a Kiss & Ride facility at Expo Hasselt?
If you bring someone to Expo Hasselt, you can drop your passengers off at the beginning of the Trichterheideweg near car park C or at the Gouverneur Verwilgensingel near car park A and drive on. Or drive into the car park and take a parking ticket. If you leave the car park within the hour, you will not have to pay for your parking ticket.

Is there a bicycle shed at Expo Hasselt?
Close to the venue entrance, we have 48 bike parking racks available for those who would like to come by bike.

The opening hours of the trade fairs or exhibitions are mentioned on the page of the event in the Calendar section.

Is there a cloakroom or can I use lockers?
Avoid bringing larger items into the venue. As part of its safety measures, Sportpaleis Group has a strict (hand) bag policy in each of its venues! Bags larger than 21 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm (or 8.27 × 11.81 × 3.94 inch; A4 size) are PROHIBITED. You cannot enter with backpacks and luggage. Strict controls will be carried out. If for medical reasons you cannot meet the requested dimensions, please contact us in advance at info@expohasselt.be.

Depending on the type of event, the organiser will provide a cloakroom and/or lockers to store jackets, a helmet or other items.

Can we bring our own food and drink to a trade fair?
Own food and beverages are not allowed. You can get drinks and snacks at the catering stands.

Can I eat and drink something in Expo Hasselt?
During the trade fair or exhibition, you can come to our catering points for drinks and a number of small snacks, such as sandwiches, soup, cake, panini’s, croque monsieur, waffles and hotdogs. At the bars and food stands you can pay cashless and even contactless with your bank card, your smartphone or the Sportpaleis Group Cashless Card. More info

Are there any restaurants near Expo Hasselt?
Before or after your visit, the restaurants in Hasselt will be happy to welcome you. On the Park H grounds, you can enjoy a culinary treat before or after your visit at Bar-Ristorante Crudo, the restaurant behind the Trixxo Arena and right across from the entrance to the Trixxo Theater (CLOSED FOR THE TIME due to the corona crisis!). Visitors with reduced mobility

Is the venue easily accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Of course it is! Parking spaces are reserved at the entrance to the venue for wheelchair users and holders of a European Disabled Parking Pass.

First Aid

Is there a medical service in Expo Hasselt?
No, but first aid can always be provided. Do not hesitate to ask for help if necessary. Trade fair staff are always ready to assist the visitor as best as possible.

Facilities

Can I pay cashless?
At every point of sale in each of the Sportpaleis Group venues, you can pay cashless and even contactless with your bank card, your smartphone or the Sportpaleis Group Cashless Card. At all bars, food stands and ticket counters, we accept Bancontact, Maestro, Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

What is the Sportpaleis Group Cashless Card?
The Sportpaleis Group has developed the Sportpaleis Group Cashless Card especially for you for easy and quick payments at the bars, food stands and ticket counters in each of the Sportpaleis Group venues. The card is available at the info desk of the venue and has an initial value of 10, 20 or 50 euros. Once purchased, you can reload it as often as you like with amounts of your choice. The amount remains on your card until it is used. You can check the balance of your card at any bar, food stand and at the recharge points, but also via the app and the Cashless Card website.

What is allowed/what is not allowed?

Can I bring my own drinks and food to the venue?
You can’t bring your own food and drinks to Expo Hasselt. This shouldn’t be a problem though, because there are several stands in the venue where you can buy all kinds of food and drinks. You can bring along the drinks and snacks available in the venue during your visit, but we do ask that you keep the place clean and pleasant for everyone. Please show respect for the neighbourhood and do not leave any litter in and around the venue. There are plenty of bins in which you can dispose of your rubbish.

Which objects are not allowed inside?
It is forbidden to enter Expo Hasselt with your own food and beverages, sound recorders, film and photo cameras, fireworks, drones, weapons of any kind and other objects that could pose a threat to security. Abuse will be prosecuted. On entering the venue, you consent to any scanning.

Can I enter with a backpack or large handbag?

Can I smoke during the visit?
There is a strict no smoking policy in the venue, but you can go outside with your ticket if you want to smoke. It is very important that you keep your ticket, otherwise you won’t be allowed back in. Please respect the surroundings and do not leave any cigarette ends on the ground. Those who do smoke in the venue can be fined up to 300 euros.

Can I use the logo or name of the trade fair or exhibition?
Unless written permission has been obtained from the organiser, any commercial use of the name or logo of the event is strictly prohibited.

What measures are taken to ensure safety?
As part of the security measures, Sportpaleis Group is tightening up its (hand)bag policy! All bags larger than 21 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm (or 8.27 × 11.81 × 3.94 inch; A4 size) are FORBIDDEN. Backpacks and all kinds of luggage are also prohibited! Strict controls are carried out, also on bringing in prohibited items. When entering the venue, you agree to any scanning. The building is also monitored for compliance with the smoking ban.
